Tis the Season
Although I won’t be heading over to Banana until tomorrow, I wanted to get a head start by scouting online for great Christmas present ideas.
Sweater for brother
Leather gloves for __________ (who wouldn’t love these studded gems?)
Love this dress!! *I know, I know…the holidays are about giving, but this is right up my alley.
Dear Mr. Mechanic,
You say broken fan belts & A/C unit. All I hear is “$700”.
Happy Holidays!

Something else to remind me that the fantastic days of summer are long gone. Wish I could be back in New York…or at least be enjoying beautiful weather. Either way, Nick did a great job of piecing together our mini vacation. Can’t wait to see what comes next!

I just cut together a little video I shot while hanging out with some friends in NYC for the 4th of July. This...
Post Thanksgiving
Having 4.5 days off from work was something only dreams are usually made of, but it’s sad to say that I was actually looking forward to returning to the office this morning. Being productive, meeting with clients, & catching up with my co-workers was refreshing (I can’t believe I’m saying this….really). Don’t get me wrong, I definitely enjoyed the following...
This is happening tonight

*I’m thankful for Williams Sonoma gift certificates :)
Something to look forward to
Dinner at Sable tonight! Nick’s family is starting to arrive in town and we’re kicking off the holiday week with a delicious dinner and cocktails at the restaurant located in the Hotel Palomar. Their cocktails have been compared to those at The Violet Hour. What could be better?
Best. Idea. Ever.
Tonight I’ll be enjoying Wine and Sweatpants Night with the girls! Delicious apps, comfy pants, girl talk, and more bottles of wine than you can imagine. Why didn’t we think of this sooner?

Finally got a chance to listen through the entire new Girl Talk album and (just like the first) it didn’t let me down. You can’t help but smile when listening through these tracks.
Check it out for FREE!!!!! Yummy!
Lazy Saturday
For our first Saturday off (since July), Nick and I have decided to do something that we very rarely have the time to do….make breakfast! Many ideas have been presented, but I think the core menu will look something like this: pumpkin pancakes, eggs, & bacon. Simple, but I couldn’t be more excited! There has also been discussion of picking up a batch of Bacon-Butterscotch...
Time to hit the road
This weekend will consist of pampering (hello new mani!), drinking, dancing, catching up with high school / college friends, and a heck of a lot of driving. Besides the driving…I’m in heaven!
Playing the Distraction Game
So with the boy in New Orleans for the week I’ve been trying to find productive and creative ways to pass the time…
- Cleaning and putting the final touches on the new bathroom design (read: new paint job (thanks Mom & Dad) & hung a picture)
- Reading. Reading. Reading. (I’m already on the 2nd book in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy and I’ve got 2 books on...
New Fav Spot
If you live near the West Loop area and haven’t eaten a delicious brunch at Meli (located on the corner of Jackson & S. Halsted) I suggest you get there ASAP. A few highlights…
- Fresh Juice Bar (I highly suggest the Orange, Strawberry, & Banana w/ Honey!)
- Chocolate Pancakes - the batter is actually made with chocolate and then they add milk and white chocolate chips. So...
Lovely Weekend
Jim & Kelly (aka Mom & Dad) are coming to visit this weekend and I couldn’t be more excited. Here’s what I have to look forward to…
- They get to see our loft for the first time!
- Dinner at Duchamp tonight
- My mom has graciously offered to paint our bathroom (no more chocolate brown walls!)
- I have my last wedding of the year tomorrow and she is my absolute...
Peanut Butter M&M's
Best. Thing. Ever.
Sweet Treat
A client of mine suggested her favorite sweet shop in Paris for our upcoming trip and I have to tell you… I CAN’T WAIT to check it out!
