If it’s true that creative types typically have disorganized work areas then I’m knee deep in creative awesomeness at this point. Maybe I can test if this will help me focus on my “craft”. A girl can dream, right?
Moving into a new place (once you get past the actual “moving” part) is full of excitement, frustration, and a whole lot of “I hope this all fits”. After moving in all of our respective piles of clothing, furniture, and stuff (for lack of a better term) and painting until our arms were tired, I have finally had a chance to sit back and reflect on how relieved I am to have a place that I can call home. I have moved each and every year since I first arrived in Chicago back in 2006…and even before then I had moved every year in college. Knowing that I have more than 12 months to enjoy the neighborhood and acquaint myself with the people in my building is an exciting prospect.
I can’t wait to see what this new space will evolve into over the years. The new art we will acquire. Our favorite meals to make for just the two of us…or the entire “extended family”. Where my favorite spot to curl up and read a book will be. And last, but certainly not least, the addition of a washer/dryer in our unit. Wow, I’m growing up.
