Watched the first 2 episodes of “Up All Night” last night and let me tell you…this show is amazing! I laughed out loud (numerous times) and it reminded me how much I love Christina Applegate. Looking forward to adding this show into the mix!
It’s part of my job description to understand that I will most likely work every single weekend from here to eternity, but it’s nice to look forward to a welcomed weekend off (such as this weekend) when I actually get to work on details for my own wedding. To remedy any boredom that I might experience I have enlisted my mom to come join me for a weekend of delicious food and wedding planning. :)
Not only do we have reservations for a fantastic French meal at Maude’s on Saturday night, but I was also able to score brunch reservation for my new favorite spot, Nightwood (which all of you Chicago Tumblrs should check out if you haven’t already). Along with the typical shopping that we usually take part in, we will also be traveling to the Textile Discount Center aka “The Mecca of Fabric” to purchase ribbon, textured fabric, and other fun items for my “dream” ceremony backdrop that my mom has so graciously offered to help us construct. And so the wedding planning madness begins…
I was invited to a bachelorette party next April in Vegas for a very good friend of mine, but of course it is the one weekend that I have a wedding that month. Funny thing is that I’ve never been to Vegas. Is the universe trying to keep me away from this city or what?
Tomorrow we set off on our journey to the west! Destination: South Dakota! Looking for an interesting location with beautiful (and picturesque) scenery, we decided that South Dakota would be a great compromise that would include everything on our wish list (his: camping / mine: a trip back to one of my favorite childhood locations) and would also give us a chance to get out of the city and breathe some fresh air.
Another hope is that we will get a chance to shoot a lot more footage for our upcoming Save the Date video for the wedding. I can’t wait to pass along photos and updates throughout the epic drive (as in…we’ll be gone for 7 days which is epic in my book!). Less than 24 hours until we leave and I’m jittery at my desk with excitement. First stop tomorrow…Minneapolis! :)
Spent all day getting ready for our road trip (laundry, packing, prepping my car for the big drive) and now it’s time to treat myself to the Tokyo Police Club show at the AV Music Fest. Great way to end this productive weekend!
I received a few inquiries about the Illinois print from this post over the weekend so I wanted to be able to pass along a bit more information as to where you can purchase it. This print was designed and printed by our good friend, Tim Jarosz, and we were lucky enough to receive it as a gift over the holidays last year, but you can purchase this print and many others at his website (http://society6.com/artist/TimJarosz). He’s an amazing photographer / graphic designer so check out his work and support local art!
